Dominik Bueckers (*1977) studied architecture and urbanism at the RWTH in Aachen. After finishing his diploma in 2003 he started broadening his planning context in collaborating with the landscape architects of Gustafson and Porter in London (2003-2008). From 2008 on he acted as an office leader of Vogt landscape architects in London. With moving to Zurich he has started to work for Schweingruber Zulauf landscape architects in 2009 – first as a teamleader, from 2013 as a partner. In 2014 the office was renamed: Dominik Bueckers, Lukas Schweingruber and Robin Winogrond have founded the Studio Vulkan. Since the expansion with an office in Munich in 2015 he works at both locations.
His tasks deal with people`s daily space in varying scales – from strategies for urban development or landscapes till the design and building a project. Beyond his work at the Studio Vulkan Dominik Bueckers acts regularly as guest critic at several international universities and as professional juror for urban design and landscape architecture on international level. Since 2021 he is a member of the advisory council for design of the city of Salzburg.
