Lukas Schweingruber (*1964) was taught landscape architecture by Professor Dieter Kienast at the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences in Rapperswil.
After working some time in Berlin, among others at Gabriele Kiefer`s office, he was leading the office Zulauf Seippel Schweingruber together with Rainer Zulauf in Zurich, which mutated finally to Schweingruber Zulauf. The Oerliker Park in Zurich and the museums park of the varus battle in Kalkriese are important rewards of this collaboration. In 2014 he has founded the Studio Vulkan in Zurich together with Robin Winogrond and Dominik Bueckers. Since 2015 also with an location in Munich.
Beyond teaching at the Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences (2001 – 2008) and at the chair of urbanism and design in Biberach (2021) he attends the discussion about the role and the development of contemporary landscape architecture actively as an professional adjudicator, expert and guest critic.
